I have lost a few pounds since trying the new approach to food. It's hard to let myself "get hungry" - but I have to remember it's okay, and how am I going to burn stored fuel if I keep giving my body fresh easy to burn fuel?
I just have to respect & listen to the hunger, and then: choose wisely. Skip the crap as much as I can, especially the sugars!
hm; the art festival was fun - we've been going annually to that for at least 3 years; they have a different theme each year, this time it was Italy.
The kids got velvet bags w/real Italian coins for gettinig beanbag froggies through a hand-painted beanbag throw game (the paintings were quite unique too - at one point Athena went up & draped frogs along parts of the painting which looked really cool so I took a photo)
We also saw Italian performers: a clown with an accent that did tricks, juggling, fire acts & knife tricks on a unicycle - a hoola hoop artist who could spin 4 hoops on different body parts at a time, wow, and the clown's wife, who could do the splits upsidedown & sideways while she danced on a spinning giant metal hoop - wow. That was a neat show.
Then, we learned how to make our own bags of Gelato - they put in sugar, vanilla & milk, sealed it in a ziplock bag for each kid - then you got a bigger zip lock bag with ice & salt - put the small one in the large one, shake for 5 minutes while the ice melted, then: Instant icecream!! It was really yummy too. (We got a printout of the recipe, so we can try it again later) -
The kids also made masks - and we got a free family photo in the photo studio there, and there were free pizzas and leamonade or tea.
& the live Accordionist playing Italian music was awesome, too. =)
